Allpacamasca ~ We Are Animated Earth ~


Animated Earth — Allpacamasca (Tierra Animada) is an Andean word meaning human being. Rooted in Indigenous tradition of the Andes, the term was first recorded by Inca Garcilaso de la Vega in 1609 (Comentarios Reales de los Incas). It represents the intricate bond between body and land and the essential practice of maintaining balance.

This series is about working with nature to create together. The elements act as true collaborators — wind, water, stone, earth, body, and movement all shape the work. The fabric becomes a living imprint, capturing the energy and memory of each environment.

Each piece of this series is created in a different location — beginning in Spain, Brazil, now in France, and will continue across other regions of the world.

Allpacamasca is an ode to our bond with the Earth - an invitation to collaborate with nature in harmony, not dominance, and to remember that we are inseparable from the land that sustains us.
